Chess ยท That ยท Transforms
After you move any piece, all your pieces of certain types instantly transform into a different type. Your opponent's pieces also swap during their turn โ both sides go through the same process.
Example: If the active swap is Bishop โ Rook, every bishop becomes a rook and every rook becomes a bishop โ simultaneously.
The game cycles through these three swap types in a shuffled sequence:
Pawns, Queens, and Kings are always protected from swaps. They stay as they are.
Every piece that will be affected by the next swap shows a small letter badge in its corner โ so you always know what's coming.
Both players use the same swap each round. White's pieces transform after White moves. Black's pieces transform after Black moves โ using the identical rule.
Each player has their own swap queue. White and Black can be on completely different transformations at the same time.
